Tristan Arp is a producer, DJ, and sound designer born in suburban Detroit. His records and DJ sets playfully bend the frameworks of leftfield bass and ambient music with pointillistic micro-percussion and elastic sound design. Modular synthesis, generative processes and polyrhythmic patterning are at the core of his work, from his debut LP for Wisdom Teeth, to sound installations and live sets at festivals like Sustain Release Tokyo, MUTEK, and Freerotation. As the cofounder of the label Human Pitch in collaboration with Simisea, he has been a resident at New York’s Lot Radio since the station’s inception. He is also a member of the ambient trio Asa Tone, whose albums have been released by Leaving Records.
